My name is Spencer Hawes. I'm a game designer which recently graduated from the Academy of Iteractice Entertainment as a Game Design and Production major.
My main roles have been as a producer and designer for several games, from short game jams to longer-form projects. As a producer I've helped lead teams through SCRUM planning and as a designer focused on player feel and abilities, along with level design.

Artemis Reigns is my latest completed project. I was the lead game designer, planning out player abilities, level design, and themes of the game.

The level design was a major focus for me for this project. Most rooms I either designed or had a hand in designing to allow for easy player flow and planning for an art pass.
I helped the team stay organized and keep on track of the original ideas and themes of the game.
Hockey at Pacsci was a contracted piece of work for the Pacific Science Center, to help people learn about the science of hockey. My main role was as head designer for one of the mini-games, specifically the skating race.

The biggest accomplishment for the team here was the ability to put the game into a web platform for ease of access for our player base, people unknowledgeable of games who want to learn about hockey.
I have been a part of several game jams, yet my two proudest ones are Trailblazers and Out of Thyme. Both games boast a cute art style, yet can't be any more different in theme. For Out of Thyme, I designed themes, game mechanics, and stories for the game. For Trailblazers, I was the lead audio designer.
